Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026

Squirrel Metrics respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what data I collect, why I collect it, and what rights you have — written in plain language, because I believe you shouldn’t need a law degree to understand what happens to your information.

1. Who I Am

This website, squirrelmetrics.eu, is operated by:

Michał Radtke, operating as Squirrel Metrics
Based in Norway
Email: michal.squirrelmetrics@gmail.com

Squirrel Metrics is currently operated by Michał Radtke as an individual freelancer. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as implemented in Norway through the Personal Data Act (Personopplysningsloven) and enforced by the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet), Michał Radtke is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact me at the email above.

2. What Data I Collect and Why

I collect only the data necessary to run this website, respond to your inquiries, and deliver my services.

2.1 Website visit data

When you browse squirrelmetrics.eu, I automatically collect data about your visit through Google Analytics 4 (GA4), including:

  • Pages visited and time spent on the site
  • General location (city/country level, derived from IP address)
  • Device, browser, and operating system type
  • How you arrived at the site (e.g., search engine, referral link)

Why: To understand how visitors use the site, identify what’s working, and improve the experience. This is, frankly, the same kind of insight I help my clients gather about their own websites.

2.2 Booking and consultation data

When you book a free or paid consultation, I use Google Calendar and Google Meet to schedule and conduct the session. This involves collecting:

  • Your name and email address
  • The date/time of your booking
  • Any information you voluntarily share in the booking notes

Why: To schedule, confirm, and deliver the consultation you requested.

2.3 Contact and email data

When you reach out via a contact form or email, I use Resend as my email delivery service to receive and respond to your message. This involves:

  • Your name and email address
  • The content of your message

Why: To respond to your inquiry.

2.4 Technical and hosting data

This website is hosted on Vercel, which may process technical data (such as IP address and request logs) as part of standard web hosting operations.

Why: This is necessary for the website to function, load securely, and stay online.

2.5 Search engine data

I use Google Search Console to monitor how the site performs in Google Search results (e.g., which search terms bring visitors to the site). This data is aggregated and does not directly identify individual visitors.

Why: To understand and improve the site’s visibility in search results.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Under GDPR Article 6, I process your data based on the following legal grounds:

Data typeLegal basis

Booking dataPerformance of a contract (or steps prior to entering one, when you request a consultation)
Contact form / email dataYour consent (by voluntarily contacting me) / legitimate interest in responding to inquiries

You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 6).

4. Third-Party Services I Use

5. International Data Transfers

Some of my third-party providers (Google, Resend, Vercel) are based in or process data in the United States. When your data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA), these providers rely on legal safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, to ensure your data remains protected to EU/EEA standards.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data I hold about you
  • Rectification — ask me to correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — ask me to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restriction — ask me to limit how I use your data
  • Portability — request your data in a portable format
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

To exercise any of these rights, email michal.squirrelmetrics@gmail.com. I will respond within one month, as required by law.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) at datatilsynet.no, or with your local data protection authority if you reside elsewhere in the EEA.

7. Data Retention

I retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Analytics data: retained per GA4 default settings (currently up to 14 months), unless configured otherwise
  • Booking data: retained for the duration of the client relationship and as needed for record-keeping (e.g., accounting obligations)
  • Contact form/email data: retained until the inquiry is resolved, plus a reasonable period afterward

8. Cookies

This website uses cookies to enable analytics and, where applicable, booking functionality. When you first visit, you’ll be asked to consent to non-essential cookies via my cookie banner. You can change your preferences at any time — see my Cookie Policy for full details.

9. Data Security

I take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including relying on providers (Google, Vercel, Resend) that maintain industry-standard security practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in my practices or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date at the top will indicate the most recent revision. I encourage you to review this page periodically.
